On Thursday, April 24, 2024, Civil Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, Janabadra University, Yogyakarta, held a Field Work Lecture (KKL) at the Jogja-Solo toll road construction project site, specifically in package 1.2A with a length of 10 kilometers, which includes the construction area of โโthe Bagor River bridge. This location is located at Google Maps coordinates 8HC6 + 6Q, Persawahan Area, Jagalan, Karangnongko District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. This field visit involved not only students, but also lecturers from the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Janabadra University, Yogyakarta. KKL participants were very enthusiastic in witnessing firsthand and learning about the construction of the toll road project. This event was guided by a team from PT Adhi Karya Tbk, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise engaged in the construction sector, which is the project holder for the Jogja-Solo toll road section to YIA Kulonprogo Airport.
The fieldwork began with a safety induction session explaining how the project implements an Occupational Safety and Health (K3) system related to potential hazards at the project site. Students were provided with knowledge and explanations about safety attributes and site visit procedures for toll road projects.
Kukuh Damarjati, Field Supervisor of PT Adhi Karya Tbk, explained the construction process and structure of the toll road project. He explained the Jogja-Solo toll road construction process, from preparation to the construction framework, including the construction of the Sungai Bagor bridge. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussions to deepen their knowledge and understanding of toll road construction.
During this visit, Kukuh explained the process of building the Jogja-Solo toll road, specifically at the location being visited, starting from construction preparations to the process of preparing the toll road construction framework, until construction was carried out.
The KKL participants were very enthusiastic in paying attention to the material presented by the PT Adhi Karya Tbk team, several students responded critically regarding the construction process of the Solo-Jogja toll road section. Several lecturers from the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Janabadra University Yogyakarta, also accompanied and directed the implementation of this KKL activity. It is hoped that this visit can increase the insight and knowledge of Civil Engineering Study Program students, Faculty of Engineering, Janabadra University Yogyakarta, especially regarding the toll road construction process, as well as get closer and build networks with the world of work and the industrial world (DUDI).
